The friend society was founded by a group of volunteers in collaberations with the management at Midgard Viking Centre. We wish to create a lively environment in and around the Viking Hall, where we can do arts and crafts and other Viking related acitivities both during and outside opening hours. The idea is to create an arena where we can create projects, explore new techniques and evolve in areas at our own request. First and foremost we hope to create a social and cosy atmosphere where we can have fun together!
- Take part in volunteer work in and around the Viking Hall in spring, summer and autumn, including socialising and dining.
- Take part in workshops/lectures/theme nights during the winter season in the museum.
- Free entrance to the museum for yourself and up to four family members.
- The opportunity to buy historically correct clothes and other equipment.
Expectations of the members
To be a member you must participate in at least five activities or volunteer work in a year. We do not expect everyone to have the historically correct attires, but if you wish to contribute to Viking activities the outfit must be correct. (There are many opportunities where this is not a requirement).
Membership fee is 100 NOK annually.
Acitivity plan 2019
