Mirko Stopar – The Whale Remembers

Mirko Stopar is an author and filmmaker who has produced several books and films in which whaling is one of the themes.

The museum’s film archives are the starting point for this production. The blue whale model regularly swims out of its own reflection through a current of memories from the period when several whale species were brought to the brink of extinction due to the human exploitation of nature.

Using spectacular cutting, repetition and film techniques, this is an artistic interpretation of the drama of the whaling industry.
