«SOUTHERN ACTOR» er eneste gjenværende operative hvalbåt fra den industrielle hvalfangsten. Den ble bygget i England i 1950 og deltok i hvalfangsten i Sydishavet fram til 1962.
Hvalbåten ligger til kai i Sandefjord havn, noen få hundre meter fra Hvalfangstmuseet. Southern Actor er åpen for besøk i sommer fra 15. juni til 31. august, kl 11.00-16.00.

Welcome aboard
“SOUTHERN ACTOR” is the only remaining fully operative whale catcher from the industrial whaling period. It was built in England in 1950 and participated in Antarctic whaling until 1962.
The whale catcher is moored at the quay in Sandefjord harbour, just a few hundred metres from the the Whaling Museum. Southern Actor is open for visitors this summer from the 15th of June to the 31st of August from 11 AM to 4 PM.
