Kon-Tiki voyage 2012

The "Kon-Tiki" voyage in 2012 had an extreme start. The replica of the "Kon-Tiki", which started the voyage from Risør to Oslo, got off to a wet start in the extreme weather. Fortunately, there were experienced sailors on board from the Tangaroa expedition. The Thor Heyerdahl Institute was a sponsor of the voyage, and had the pleasure of participating in one of the stages.

The starting point was Risør Woodenboat festival on August 5, 2012. On Friday, August 24, the boat will sail in front of the Oslo Opera House in connection with the film premiere. The fleet will take over 200 passengers on 18 stages along the way.

Captain Torgeir Higraff was able to state that a lot of water dripped into the cabin, but he and the crew were in good spirits. Safety was ensured by the Norwegian Lifesaving Society, and with a few thousand nautical miles behind them on the Tangaroa voyage, the 18 nautical miles to Oslo were child's play for the experienced crew.
