The Whale catcher, Southern Actor is closed for the season.

The café

Guided tours

The Whaling Museum in Sandefjord is well known outside of Sandefjord as a museum which specialises in whales and whaling history. You can now experience the museum in a new way, with a tailormade tour for your group.

Prices:

Guided tour during museum opening hours on weekdays. Max 30 pers. per group.

Guided tour outside of museum opening hours and at weekends. Max 30 pers. per group. 

  • Guided tour, 45 min: NOK 2000

How to get here

The Whaling Museum is located in the city centre of Sandefjord and the public transport is excellent.
During season the whaling catcher «Southern Actor» is docked at the guest pier in Sandefjord.

Parking
Torvgangen parking is located just across the road from the museum. There are several other great parking options close to the museum, some of which are free of charge.

Bus
Several buses pass by the museum.

Train
From Sandefjord station it is a short walk to the Whaling Museum. The station has several routes to the rest of Vestfold County and is just a one hour and 34 minute ride from Oslo Central Stration
