Borre Church is one of the country's most famous romanesque medieval churches. The altarpiece from 1665 was cut by Abel Schrøder. The church's altar is as old as the church itself, and the pulpit from approx. 1600.

The Borre cross is historically the church's greatest klenodium. It is still possible to see a copy inside the church. The original Borre cross is on exhibit in the Cultural History Museum in Oslo.

The church building is one of 160 preserved stone churches in Norway and has by The Directorate for Cultural Heritage protected status.
